MORRIS EXTENDS UNTIL 2027
Seasoned forward signs two-year extension
We are delighted to confirm that Elliot Morris has signed an extension to his contract that will see remain part of the Hurricanes until the end of the 2027 season.
Morris, 29, joined the Canes during pre-season following his release after two seasons with then-Championship side Dewsbury Rams. The experienced prop is no stranger to Championship level rugby, with the majority of his career spent at Halifax where he made 109 appearances over 7 seasons. Since joining the Canes he has gone on to make 14 appearances this season - taking his total career appearance tally to over 175 - with his sole try to date coming during our 22-10 away victory over Rochdale Hornets.
His performances have clearly impressed Head Coach Mark Dunning and Assistant Coach Leigh Beattie, with both men keen to keep Elliot a vital member of their forward pack.
Speaking with Mark, he had this to say to CanesTV on retaining Elliot:
“We are delighted that Elliot has committed two more years to the club with this extension.
Elliot is “Mr Consistency” and is a good pro that is admired and valued by all his peers and staff alike. He has fit in perfectly since joining the squad and I look forward to him remaining a solid member of our forward pack.”
Also speaking with CanesTV, Elliot said:
“It was an easy decision for me when Mark came to me with the offer of a new deal. I am loving my time at the Canes and am really excited to be here for another two years.”
Elliot joins Tom Wilkinson and Sully Medforth in the camp of players who have signed extensions until the end of the 2027 season, but we have more in the pipeline for you so watch this space!
